Bring a little piece of Monte Carlo to your own front door with this simple recipe!
To create one Monte Carlo Cocktail you will need the following:
– Two dashes of Angostura bitters (this can be altered to personal preference but this is the original)
– 2.25 oz of rye whisky
– 0.5 oz of Benedictine
– A small amount of ice
– A cherry
Prior to making the cocktail, place a martini glass in the fridge or the freezer for just a few minutes to chill it. Whilst this is happening, you can create your cocktail.
Put the rye whisky, Benedictine and Angostura bitters into a cocktail mixer and then fill to the top with ice. Shake this up thoroughly for between 30 and 60 seconds. Strain the drink into your pre prepared chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the cherry. Serve straight away with a flourish or enjoy it yourself.
