The Manhattan cocktail; a standard drink in the German city of Fohr and served regularly at all cafes and restaurants, as well as being a classy yet popular cocktail in…well, Manhattan! The cocktail is loved and enjoyed on almost a global scale it seems. This drink dates all the way back to the late 1800’s too, so why not let it keep living on and try and make yourself one at home, wherever you are in the world? Sip it while playing table casino games online, pretending you’re in Vegas – You know you want to! We imagine the Manhattan is the kind of drink you’d also look pretty classy carrying around the casino, no matter what game you wanted to play.
Note: this recipe makes one Manhattan cocktail!
For this cocktail you will need:
– 1 oz of sweet vermouth
– 2 dashes of angostura bitters
– 2.5 oz of bourbon
– 1 maraschino cherry
Now, the method for this cocktail is incredibly simple- you really can’t get it wrong! Fill a short glass (yes, short glass, not shot glass!) with ice about two-thirds of the way full. Next, add all of the liquids into the glass. Finally, add the cherry- but do not let it float as a garnish like in an ordinary cocktail! Instead, crush it against the side of the glass with a spoon, before stirring the cocktail and voila, it is ready to serve and be enjoyed!
