- Vodka Cocktails

Ah, the classic Vodka Martini- a drink that made its well-renowned claim to fame in every single Bond book and film, accompanied with the infamous line “Vodka Martini; shaken, not stirred”. Well, regardless as to whether you take your VM shaken or stirred, there’s one thing that won’t change- the great taste of an excellent alcoholic beverage that takes the edge off of a tough day at work. You know, like gambling, flirting and shooting the bad guys if you’re James Bond. Classy with an absolute licence to thrill (hopefully not to kill…!) this drink is always a hit at cocktail bars, casinos and dinner parties. Or combine all three and host your very own casino themed party at home, complete with vodka martinis.
For one vodka martini drink, you will need the following:
– 15 ml of vermouth
– 60 ml of potato vodka of any brand
– A twist of lemon peel or some olives, depending on what you fancy
– Ice cubes
Fill a mixing glass with ice cubes and pour into the vodka and the vermouth. Stir the liquids up together well and then strain them into a martini glass. Garnish the drink with an elegant twist of lemon peel or the olives, which will also add a slight edge to the martini, and then serve with a flourish and that 007 charm to your guests. Why not try out 007’s slight variation of the recipe, the Vesper Martini.
